This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to lead an in-person sublimation class that was both fun and inspiring. Held at our local craft studio, the workshop focused on creating stunning 20oz tumblers and 11oz coffee mugs, all featuring beautiful fall-themed designs.
Welcoming the Enthusiastic Group
The class was attended by a wonderful group of 26 women, all eager to dive into the world of sublimation. The studio was buzzing with excitement as everyone settled in, ready to unleash their creativity. To make the experience even more enjoyable, we provided a variety of refreshments that perfectly complemented the fall theme.
Diving into the Sublimation Process
We kicked off the workshop with a brief introduction to sublimation. I explained the basics, from selecting the right materials to understanding the importance of time and temperature settings. Each participant was given a choice of fall-themed designs, ranging from vibrant pumpkins and cozy sweaters to elegant autumn leaves.
Crafting the 20oz Tumblers
Our first project was the 20oz tumblers. Participants selected their designs and printed them onto sublimation paper. We then carefully wrapped the printed designs around the tumblers, securing them with heat-resistant tape. Using a tumbler press, we applied the necessary heat and pressure to transfer the designs. The results were fantastic! Each tumbler showcased crisp, vibrant colors that truly captured the essence of fall.
Creating the 11oz Coffee Mugs
Next, we moved on to the 11oz coffee mugs. The process was similar, but we used a mug press instead of a tumbler press. Participants chose their designs, printed them, and wrapped them around the mugs. After applying heat and pressure, the mugs emerged with stunning fall-themed designs, ready to be enjoyed with a warm beverage.
Adding a Special Touch
To add an extra layer of excitement, we held a raffle at the end of the class. One lucky participant won a tumbler press and a starter kit, setting them up perfectly for their own sublimation projects at home. The raffle was a hit and added a fun, competitive edge to the workshop.
Looking Ahead
The class was a huge success, and everyone left with beautiful, personalized tumblers and mugs, along with a newfound passion for sublimation. I am already planning my next event and can't wait to see what creative projects we will tackle next. Stay tuned for more crafting adventures!
